About Love In Action
Love In Action is an organization sourced by its commitment to empower leaders and make a positive shift.
We designate specific causes and charities to support, then partner with the hottest media personalities, corporate sponsors and local talents for a campaign to raise money and awareness for the chosen organization.
Love in Action is a platform for leaders to be in action to create sustainable results, support and solutions for various international projects.
We celebrate and recognize leadership initiatives and we unite local media and talent for an inspirational and entertaining event that makes a difference.
Our Story
In 2006, e11even Productions owner and TV Producer/Creator, Theresa Laurico was approached by MuchMusic Creative Services to help raise $27,000 to adopt a village in Sierra Leone, Africa. Laurico combined her love for quality cultural entertainment and media connections and threw a successful fundraiser with Trevor Francis for the international charity "Free the Children." The event was named “Love In Action” after meeting and being inspired by Serving Charity Founder, Abbas Jahangiri, who was greatly influenced by Mother Teresa.

In 2008, while serving with Abbas, Jonelle Joseph and Laurico saw that there was a need in the local community. Love In Action supported "Serving Charity" and generated thousands of dollars towards the purchase of new sleeping bags, hats and gloves. The LIA team then hit the streets with Abbas and personally distributed the sleeping bags and merchandise to help Toronto’s homeless survive the extreme winter cold.
In 2009, Love In Action participated in development under the organization, United Global Shift, based out of New York City, which influenced LIA to restructure its initiatives and goals with a new direction for sustainable shift.
In 2010, Love In Action partnered with Gap Adventures to bring LIA to the next level through a national contest campaign. The contest calls leaders to create a unique fundraising project and submit a 2 minute video of what they did to put their Love In Action to raise money to support Planeterra and its Tibet Eye Restoration Clinic.
We have sposored events and given donations to fundraisers in the past,” said Gap Adventures owner Bruce Poon Tip, “but this is an innovative way to create something bigger. Gap Adventures chose to partner with this project because Love in Action in about engaging young passionate people, creating community, and sharing ideas.”
Our Future
The winning team of the Love In Action contest will be based on creativity, funds raised, video and picture submission and proposed sustainable solution for one of Planeterra’s Projects. The winners (group of 3) will receive an all expense paid 11-day voluntour trip to Peru from Gap Adventures and will be presented at the anticipated event, “Love In Action 3: …A Movement” on March 17, 2010 at Revival in Toronto, Canada. The event includes a silent auction with all proceeds to support Haiti and an A-list performance line-up! This inspiring star studded night will be the BEST Love In Action event yet!
The LIA winners will be asked to blog about their journey to share the life changing and transformational experience with LIA supporters. The LIA Team will also be traveling to a Planeterra Community through Gap Adventures and video taping putting their Love In Action to allow loyal supporters to see first hand where their money and efforts went.
This initiative will create inspiring awareness and evoke solution pattern thinking for sustainable shifts.
Love In Action aims to continue to support Planeterra and other global initiatives and be an international brand and movement by 2012.
